Joe's Monday Tips

***9.28 Nottingham - Slippy Nora (3pts) 5/2
**7.44 Nottingham - Noels Spider (2pts) 11/8
*8.36 Nottingham - Mallogs Miley (2pst) 13/8

Plenty of open races at Nottingham this evening to start another busy week of top class action.

The nap of the evening is trap two Slippy Nora in the ARC Stayers Trophy Heat Two at 9.28pm. It isn’t the strongest heat and looks a match on paper between traps one and two Firebird Queenie and Slippy Nora. I’m hoping Slippy Nora can get first run on her main rival inside her and if she does she can give chase to the likes of Rockmount Raven and Wolf Gold and prove too strong. She hasn’t run over this C&D since April but has been staying on over four bends so she should relish the step back up in trip.

The next best is trap three Noels Spider in the ARC Winner Of One 480m Trophy at 7.44pm. He is in good form for Gerry Ballentine at his local track Perry Barr, with three sub 28.40 runs in victory and defeat, so takes a slight drop in class here to what he has recently been up against. He needs to avoid Ivys Showgirl in trap one who possesses brute early speed when doing it right but if Noels Spider can turn with that rival from the second bend, he will prove to have too much for her and the rest of his rivals, as long as he takes the track on his first start away from Perry Barr since March.

The third bet of the evening is Mallogs Miley who lines up from trap six in the ARC Maiden Standard Trophy over 500m at 8.36pm. She was an impressive winner of an A2 last time out for Barry Denby, leading and making all. With some of her rivals having their first look at the track, it could play into the hands of Mallogs Miley who has plenty of experience over this evenings C&D and with further improvement on the cards. The draw in six has worked out well for her with Pulleen Dasher trap five expected to give the selection plenty of racing room to show what she is capable of.
