Joe's Monday Tips
***8.54 Nottingham - Quill Quids (3pts) 7/4
**8.19 Nottingham - Droopys Extragud (2pts) 7/4
*9.11 Nottingham - Butlers Lane (2pts) 11/4
Nottingham host five open races this evening with the highlight being the Nottingham Standard Trophy Final at 8.01pm.
First up we have the Arena Racing Company Sprint Trophy at 7.27pm where trap one Mossrich Karen should return to winning ways back over 305m. She tried her luck over 480m seven days ago but found plenty of trouble on the short run to the first bend getting beaten just under thirteen lengths in the process so back over the sprint trip with the long run to the corner and being drawn inside tick all the boxes for Mossrich Karen to return to winning ways.
The next open is the Nottingham Standard Trophy Final at 8.01pm where trap one Jetstream Breeze takes all the beating. He set the standard in the heats last week and is arguably the best greyhound at Nottingham at this present time so as long as he gets a run into the race behind Velvet Madrid he can prove too strong for her barring the track not running too fast where she gets loose and not for catching.
At 8.19pm we have the Arena Racing Company 480m Trophy where we are with another trap one in Droopys Extragud. The short run to the bend can help his cause where an inside draw can be key and although he haven’t seen the best of him in recent months due to time off the track. He is the one to beat with the main danger Leighas Dream having her first competitive start in three months.
The ARC Winner Of One Standard Trophy Division One at 8.54pm can go to Esther Driver’s Quill Quids in trap two who really caught the eye in the Greyhound Derby first round although being knocked out in fourth. He flew home in a race won by upcoming semi finalist Slick Sentinel as well as Scooby The Boss and Romeo Command where he powered clear into the pick up after the line so any kind of clear run for Quill Quids this evening should see him go onto win.
The final open race of the evening is the ARC Winner Of One Standard Trophy Division Two at 9.11pm that can be won by trap six Butlers Lane in what looks a competitor affair. She is in good form with an A2 Victory and A1 second in her last two starts so can follow up by leading and making all here getting the better of Hardy Bucko.
