Joe's Saturday Tips

Hove takes centre stage this evening with the final of the Coral Brighton Belle and a prize of £10,000 going to the winner of this prestigious competition where we will know the outcome at 8.24pm. Seamus Cahill is doubly represented as is Kevin Hutton with the other two finalists trained by Liz McNair and Paul Donovan.

Queen Shakira looks the one to beat as she has been faultless throughout the competition with two professional displays to head into the final unbeaten. However, she is not the only unbeaten runner as Highview Jasman (28/1 E/W ante post selection) also heads into the final with two victories in heats and semi-final, albeit with a bit more controversy around her first round victory when being marked awkward. She is on a six timer so rule her out at your peril.

Runaway Dior in trap six has blistering early pace so she will be looking to lead and need some favours in behind to hold on from the likes of Harlequin Beauty, Resonate and Highview Jasman and it is brilliant to see Puppy Oaks winner Dark Madam make another bitches final. She ran a burster in behind Queen Shakira last week.

I am with Queen Shakira who on last week's run should clear Dark Madam on her inside and that should give her first crack at Runaway Dior but can turn close enough to the leader to take it up by the third bend and from there she would not be for catching.

There are three supporting finals on the card kicking off with the Jenny Bunting Memorial Sweepstake A5 final at 6.08pm where the progressive Bunny Blaster for Alfie Herbert can get the better of Minstrels Six.

The Hove Puppy Cup Final at 7.49pm can go to Headford Asher who looks set to have an extremely bright future and Queen Sinead can use the inside draw to her advantage to take the Coral Sprint Trophy Final at 8.07pm.

Other selections on the card include Teddie in the Coral Brighton Belle Consolation at 7.33pm, Baywatch Bullet in the Coral Finals Night Stayers at 8.41pm and Missile One in the Coral Finals Night 500 Standard at 8.59pm.

The Premier Greyhound Racing Golden Jacket gets underway in a week's time at its new home Monmore Green. With a new distance of 684m, it changes from eight to six bends and there are two more trial stakes this evening. At 8.31pm Garfiney Blaze can show his class to win a competitive affair getting the better of the likes of Deadly Disco and Magical Luna while at 9.23pm Savana Jackpot can return to winning ways getting the better of the improving Dizzy Lizzie and Grand Prix third Newinn Cloud.

Also on the card Kirby quarter-finalist and Brighton Belle semi-finalist Ballymac Lucia makes the step up to six bends in a 630m maiden at 9.04pm against an interesting newcomer Savana Mongys who is a full-brother to expected Golden Jacket favourite Mongys Wild.
