Joe's Third Round Tips

Heat One

The nap of the night trap one Sunnyside Broxi who is available at around 3/1 for this heat. He has run two big races in defeat behind Churchfield Syd and most recently Tiffield Tarquin and looks drawn to go well this evening. All the early pace is on the outside with Newinn Benni and Slick Sentinel vying for the lead so as long as Sunnyside Broxi can hold Wrighty, Racketball Brute and One Slick Jamie to the bend, he can prove too strong late on to get one step closer to another Derby Final.

1st - Sunnyside Broxi (NAP)
2nd - Rackethall Brute
3rd - Slick Sentinel

Heat Two

It is extremely difficult to look past Bombay Pat who lines up again from trap six where a similar run to his last two starts would see him win. A much improved 4.00 sectional last week saw him clock a rapid 28.53 and he will need to be on his toes again this evening with Bubbly Charger roaring to the bend on his inside as well as Glory Lord. If he gets out the second bend unscathed Bombay Pat he should put the race to bed with Droopys Plunge chasing him home in second and Arthur Job on the inside sneaking through in third.

1st - Bombay Pat
2nd - Droopys Plunge
3rd - Arthur Job

Heat Three

An absolute cracker where we are set to lose at least one big gun heading into the quarter-finals. De Lahdedah couldn’t chase down Ballinabola Joe in round two and I can see history repeating itself with Ballinabola Joe leading and making all. March On Freddie can plug on out wide to make it through to the quarter-finals and it wouldn’t be a surprise at all to see Barefoot On Fire run well at a bigger price than he was last week when odds on. The Esther Driver pair of No Better Feein and Hopes Ompaloompa have got it all to do although No Better Feelin deservedly beat Barefoot on Fire last week when second and third. I am with Ballinabola Joe to continue his uneaten record through the campaign.

1st - Ballinabola Joe
2nd - March On Freddie
3rd - De Lahdedah

Heat Four

Here we go!!! The race we didn’t want to see in round three but a truly exceptional 28 and a half seconds is anticipated with the top two in the betting Bockos Diamond and Cheap Sandwiches taking each other on from traps five and six. It is extremely hard to get away from Bockos Diamond after his devastating display last week so I am with him to beat Cheap Sandwiches who is running the Towcester bends better than any wide runner I have seen at the track and then it’s who qualifies back in third. The two strong runners Jaytee Craze and Droopys Bookem go from traps one and two where I am with Jaytee Craze to confirm the form with Droopys Bookem from round one to chase the front two home in third and make it through to next week. Salacres Senan and Kevins Rocket will need to blast clear to give themselves the best chance of making it through.

1st - Bockos Diamond
2nd - Cheap Sandwiches
3rd - Jaytee Craze

Heat Five

An interesting race full of early pace bar Ballymac Tibet out wide in trap six. The fabulous story of Faypoint Susie continues but she’s got a much tougher draw this week to work from. I am with Droopys Aladdin to lead and make all. He went well for a long way last week being collared by Droopys Bookem late on after not coming away as well as he can so a level break and I believe he is the fastest to the first bend to lead and win. It’s hard to rule any of the six out of this extremely competitive heat but I am with Droopys Aladdin to lead and win.

1st - Droopys Aladdin
2nd - Keefill Maverick
3rd - Ballymac Tibet

Heat Six

A race that looks a bit of a match on paper between trap one Droopys Trade and trap five Tiffield Tarquin with Teddie, Thats It Jack, Flashing Fender and Hello Diego all desperate to have a say. I am with Tiffield Tarquin who showed last week his versatility when coming from behind to win a strong race. Droopys Trade will have to break better from one tonight than he did in round one whereas Tiffield Tarquin can get first run on the dogs around him to power home from the half way mark and win with Droopys Trade and Hello Diego booking their place in next week's quarter-finals.

1st - Tiffield Tarquin
2nd - Droopys Trade
3rd - Hello Diego

Heat Seven

My next best and arguably the best backed dog of the early prices available for round three is trap one Faypoint Harvey. This dog flew the boxes from trap one last week before finishing second to Cheap Sandwiches and a repeat break this evening sees him lead and make all. He can hold Cooliogold to the bend with Deliveroo trying to make an early move out wide and then it’s where the strong runners turn Romeo Empire, Vhagar and Singalong Molly but I am with Faypoint Harvey to go trap to line with Romeo Empire and Vhagar chasing him home to qualify.

1st - Faypoint Harvey (Next Best)
2nd - Romeo Empire
3rd - Vhagar

Heat Eight

A brilliant way to draw a close to round three with fan favourite Churchfield Syd looking to continue his love affair with the track by blasting out and making all. I am with him to do so as there is no reason to be against him at the minute with two quick away always led runs to his name in rounds one and two. Barntick Bear needs to track cleverly as he is sandwiched between dogs who should lead him including Sole Mio who can chase Churchfield Syd home and then I’ll be with Barntick Bear to get the run he needs to qualify in third saying goodbye to Fabulous Sonique, Indian Bonnie and Dynamic Force.

1st - Churchfield Syd
2nd - Sole Mio
3rd - Barntick Bear
