Greyhound Derby Just Giving campaign
Every year throughout the Greyhound Derby, Gail May and her team of fundraisers can be seen raising much needed donations for retired greyhounds. No matter the weather, they are there but this year there is also an online campaign to go along with the bucket shaking at Towcester on the night.
As part of Greyhound Racing UK's commitment to the sport, the fundraising is being done in conjunction with Greyhound Homing UK and all donations will be going to the partner charities of Greyhound Homing UK. The aim is to reach £10,000 with £4,000 of that the aim for those who donate through Just Giving.
It means that if you are unable to get to the track, you are still able to help out with the important job that these charities do to prepare the stars of our sport for a life on the sofa. If you are sat at home and are watching Gone To The Dogs - Live! for free on YouTube on Saturday night and you happen to have a few winners on the card, please consider a donation.
For those of you who are at the track there will still be the team walking around with greyhounds collecting your loose change in buckets plus selling raffle tickets for your chance to win a string of prizes with the top prize of £1,000!
