Monday night at Nottingham sees the start of the Arena Racing Company Puppy Classic, with a superb field of youngsters bidding to take glory in what is always a superb competition.

*** Lady Gambet - 9.11 Nottingham
** Nicky Swithin - 8.54 Nottingham
* Bogger Bale - 7.27 Nottingham
There was a very impressive Nottingham debut win last week from Lady Gambet. She was making just the second start of her career, winning an open at Yarmouth on her debut despite plenty going wrong for her. Those two wins suggest that she might not be front rank heading into the opening corner, but she can bide her time and come home the strongest.
Another who could get the job done from the red jacket is Nicky Swithin. His sole win in Ireland produced the fourth quickest time of the year over 480m so far at Waterford, and he was deeply impressive on his second run at Doncaster when clocking 29.38 over the 483m distance. He is capable of much better than he showed last week on his debut at this track and is taken to step forward on that form.
There are two sprint contests to kick off the opens and although Bogger Bale lacks a look here, he has been very impressive at his home track of Dunstall Park of late with a couple of D1 wins. A finalist in the Fair Warrior at Mullingar last November, this stiffer sprint trip is going to be right up his street.
