There are some very interesting looking open races this evening at Nottingham,. We have gone over the card to find our three best selections for the night.
Monday's Tips
*** Buster Eight - 7.44 Nottingham
** Newinn Oscar - 8.54 Nottingham
* Nunos Nugget - 8.01 Nottingham
It was a nice debut last week at Nottingham from Buster Eight, confirming the impression that he had shown in Ireland and in practise at Yarmouth. That was his first race action in 10 weeks so he is entitled to sharpen up for that win, especially as this is not an easy place to score without a trial. Looks the type to go well sub 18 when he puts it all together.
It is great to see Newinn Oscar back at Nottingham this evening. He was in flying form back in the autumn at the track for Nathan Hunt, winning over both this trip and 500m, chasing home Droopys Aladdin twice, including in the opening round of the Premier Greyhound Racing Eclipse. Unfortunately he had to subsequently miss the semis but that level of form stands out here.
Nunos Nugget was a smart winner last time out for Lynn Cook, landing a D1 contest in a smart time. This is a tougher ask of him but that local knowledge will stand him in good stead against three rivals having their first look at the track, one back here for the first time since July 2025 and the other for the first time since November 2024! He is still relatively unexposed and is likely capable of better.
