It's been a little while since Annadown Shadow last got his head in front but he was unlucky in his heat last week, running on well after finding some early trouble. If he can find his way cleanly around the opening couple of bends then he is going to be a tough sort to beat in this field tonight. He gave Woltemade a running lesson in the heats of the Gymcrack this year, and that sort of form would see him head and shoulders above these.
The red jacket is not really the place to be over the 305m trip so far this year at Nottingham with just an 8% strike rate in opens of 4/48. Da Don is responsible for two of those four winners, however, and can make it three this evening in a sprint heat. He loves this track, and is capable of trapping much better than he has been in his recent race starts.
The Arc Puppy Classic semi at 8.36 will see a fascinating clash between Scooby Mustang and Daleroad Magic. Preference is for Patrick Guilfoyle's raider who still looked to have chunks of time in the tank last week when able to win his heat despite being very wayward at the bend. It would be no shock to see him come on plenty again next week in the final if as expected, he makes it there.
