Open race action from Nottingham this evening where there are six opens to look over as part of a 12-race card.
Monday's Tips
*** Cockneys Crafty - 8.54 Nottingham
** Gallant Taylor - 9.28 Nottingham
* Jet Stream Jane - 7.44 Nottingham
There has only been limited action in England from Cockneys Crafty but he has shown a good level of form already. A winner at both Doncaster in an open and in the opening round of the Arena Racing Company Puppy Classic at this track, this looks a gilt-edged opportunity for him to pick up number three in a race where none of his rivals have even had a trial at this track before.
Gallant Taylor has only had two starts so far at Nottingham, leading up an A2 on debut before others came home stronger and then winning a D2 when dropped in trip in a solid enough 18.18. This does not look the strongest of maiden sprints and it might be that a repeat of that is going to be good enough, and there should be better to come from him.
Round three of Jet Stream Jane V Carrick Scholsey tonight at Nottingham with the score currently 2-0 to the former. Scholsey looked to be coming with a strong challenge on the second of those occasions but Jane was looming behind, so it would have been interesting to see how the race would have turned out. This is their first clash over six bends, with both smart stayers, but we have to go with the form so far.
