Monday tips - October 6
Chris Oliver looks at tonight's open races at Nottingham and provides his three best best of the card.

Monday tips
***Pain Barrier (T3, 9.28 Nottingham)
**Droopys Poker (T4, 7.44 Nottingham)
*Newinn Oscar (T2, 8.01 Nottingham)
Tonight’s open racing comes from Nottingham where there are six such contests on the card.
Kim Billingham-Hine has a couple of strong claims, including Pain Barrier (T3) in the Arc 480m Maiden Trophy at 9.28. He was only denied by a head when running a big race on his Nottingham debut over 480m a week ago and should improve for that first look round Colwick Park. He goes over the same trip tonight and has the early dash to get clear beyond recall.
His kennelmate Droopys Poker (T4) is also expected to go well in heat two (7.44) of the Arc Four Bend Dual Distance Trophy over 480m. He ran out an easy winner over 500m here last Monday and this doesn’t look any tougher. With the early speed to turn prominently in the black jacket, he can put the race to bed down the far side.
Newinn Oscar (T2) arrives in good heart and could be the one to beat in heat three at 8.01. Prior to finishing third over 500m here last week, Nathan Hunt’s dog won a couple of Monmore opens along with a short-head second at that venue. He is expected to improve for last week’s outing here and he is well drawn in trap two.
