Mondays tips from Nottingham

*** DROOPYS POKER (T6, 7.27 Nottingham)

** CAPEL ROSE (T4, 8.36 Nottingham)

* DROOPYS FLARE (T1, 9.11 Nottingham)

The Arc Standard Trophy open race at 7.27 from Nottingham can go to DROOPYS POKER at 10s. The Kim Billingham-Hine trained middle seed looks overpriced and in a race lacking early pace Poker has a chance to turn handy or even lead round. If that happens, it’s race on. Rackethall Brute is a class act and rates as the danger from T2. No Better Feelin (T3) is another more than capable of taking this if he gets it right at the boxes.

CAPEL ROSE runs from T4 in the 905-metre open race from Nottingham at 8.36 and looks a play at evens. Rose bolted up at Yarmouth last week, showing excellent track craft and staying power. Tonight, if the Gifkins-trained railer turns handy, she can make her move and hit the front by the sixth bend and power clear. Local runner Vale Bluebell rates as the danger from T2. Getaway Car (T3) is lightly raced and is worth noting in the market.

The Category One PGR St Leger final at 9.11 looks a cracker. At the prices on offer DROOPYS FLARE appeals from T1. Since returning to action following a lengthy layoff, Droopys Flare has impressed, finishing second in the first-round heats behind Mongys Wild and then beating that rival in the semi-finals. Tonight, from an ideal draw in T1, Droopys Flare can lead round and make all in the £20,000 to the winner final. Mongys Wild will be staying on well from T3 and rates as the danger.
