New Destiny is 11-4 favourite with the sponsors to win the Coral Essex Vase - starting at Romford on Friday - as she looks to complete the set!
Already winner of back-to-back Premier Greyhound Racing Champion Stakes, plus 2024’s Coral Coronation Cup, Mark Wallis’s star tracker was denied a unique hat-trick of Romford’s 575m titles with a brilliant performance from Maxine Locke’s Droopys Eunice in last year’s Essex Vase final but is back again to create a slice of history.
In what could be her last big-race campaign, New Destiny lines up in heat two at the London Road venue on Friday as the former track record holder of the six-bend distance there after Gary The Arb’s sensational 34.40sec win over C&D on Friday.
Belinda Green’s dog, third behind New Destiny and Fabulous Sonique in the Champion Stakes final in October, goes in heat five, while prolific-scoring Fabulous Sonique herself runs in heat two as the reigning Coronation Cup champion.
