GBGB Kennelhand of the Year

Nominations are now being sought for the GBGB Kennelhand of the Year Award.

Won last year by Kaitlyn Linley, daughter-in-law of Sunderland trainer Shirley, the award recognises the hard work of kennelhands throughout the sport but honours one exceptional kennelhand for their commitment to caring for their greyhounds.

The award will be presented at the GBGB Awards at Easthampstead Park, Surrey, on Thursday, March 5, and the GBGB are urging owners, trainers, racing office staff and colleagues to nominate kennelhands who they feel deserve to be recognised.

Nominations should be emailed to [email protected] with the subject line ‘Kennelhand of the Year 2025’ by Friday, January 16.

Nominations should include the nominee’s name and a detailed description of why they are a deserving recipient as well as the contact details of the person submitting the nomination.

The winner will receive £500, plus two tickets to the awards themselves with accommodation included, as well as the prestigious Kennelhand of the Year trophy.

Tickets for the GBGB Awards are due to go on sale shortly.
