Other Saturday night opens from around the country
Away from the Derby there was also open race action at Doncaster, Monmore and Oxford on Saturday night.

Soppitt looking on the Sunnyside at Monmore
Sunnyside Broxi was open race winner number 14 for Ted Soppitt in 2025. He ran riot in a 630m contest, coming home five lengths clear with the clock stopping in 37.80. 2017 was the last time that Soppitt hit 20 open race winners in a calendar year, well on track for that with his kennel star accounting for six of the 14.
Zebedee Cluasa picked up a third open win in his last seven starts for Nathan Hunt, landing a 480m contest in 28.37. Richie Taberner was responsible for the other open race winner on the card with Aero Rolex who was clocked at 28.46 when scoring at 10/1.
New sprint FOTY at Doncaster
Three different trips were in use at Doncaster last night for their opens. Redbrick Daisy picked up her second open for Jimmy Gaskin and an 18th win from her 43 career starts to this point. Her 16.78 is the quickest of the year over 275m, taking four spots off her own fastest of 2025 which came on Monday!
A 450m puppies contest went to Sean Parker's Droopys Artilery. He was another who had picked up a graded win on the Monday card ahead of an open race success on Saturday. Kirsty Grayson was on the scoreboard with Maximum Calibre over 483m. He was sent off at 7/1 for the surprise on the night with the pair chasing him home both 14/1 chances.
Hutton lands the only Oxford open
Deelish Crofty justified his 2/5 odds to land the sole open contest on Oxford's card for Kevin Hutton. It took until the eighth start of his career to get off the mark but he has got the hang of things now, picking up his second win in start 11. His dam is a three-quarter sister to the likes of Pestana so there is plenty of speeding the pedigree.
