Perry Barr the first fixture lost this week to high temperatures
With high temperatures forecast for the weekend, Perry Barr has already announced the abandonment of their Saturday meeting.

High temperatures expected for the weekend
Perry Barr made the decision on Wednesday afternoon that their Saturday evening fixture this week will not go ahead due to high temperatures. There are sure to be others that will follow over the next few days so watch this space as we will continue to update you with any race meetings that will not be going ahead.
The GBGB hot weather policy states 'When ambient racecourse temperatures are expected to be greater than 33°C, the racecourse executive will give consideration to cancel or postpone racing as soon as it is reasonable to do so that greyhounds are not transported during periods of hot weather.'
Saturday is due to be on the cusp of that temperature so it is good to see Perry Barr making an early decision for the good of the greyhounds.
Swindon has also announced this morning that both the Friday and Saturday fixtures at the track will not go ahead due to the hot weather. Towcester have also said that their Friday card will not be run.
Late afternoon on Thursday also saw the announcement from Monmore than both their morning and evening cards on Saturday would not be run.
In Ireland, Limerick has cancelled their meeting tonight while Mullingar have cancelled their Friday night card.
Monmore became the latest track on Thursday to cancel their meetings on Saturday, with both morning and evening card falling by the wayside
