Plans finalised for 2025 Select Stakes
The field for the Select Stakes at Nottingham will again be chosen by the GWA.

GWA on duty for the Select Stakes
The Greyhound Writers’ Association will once again decide the runners for the 2025 Select Stakes at Nottingham.
The prestigious invitational will be run on Monday 25th August and, in keeping with tradition, the GWA will whittle down the entrants down to a field of six on Wednesday 20th August.
The closing date for entries is 1pm on Friday 15th August and the draw will be live at lunchtime on Thursday 21st August.
The valuable one-off contest over 500m has gone the way of Ireland in the last two years, with Pat Buckley’s Unanimouspanther picking up the £12,500 first prize last summer and the Graham Holland-trained Clona Duke landing the race in 2023.
The home team will be all out to regain the trophy in August, with the newly-crowned Star Sports/TRC Greyhound Derby champion Droopys Plunge possibly leading the charge.
The Select Stayers over 730m will be decided by the same process and will also follow the above dates and times.
