Promising first GBGB Board Meeting for the new Owners Rep
Owners Rep Tony Brealey tweeting this morning that his first GBGB meeting on the board was a positive one.

A promising start for Brealey
The newly voted in Owners Representative on the GBGB board tweeted on X this morning to give an update on his first meeting with the board.
Brealey said "I think the board meeting was good. Sadly, I can’t share much at this stage due to confidentiality. I felt the board engaged with me and genuinely respected my input. I already feel my business and owner knowledge will benefit them and us.
"Offices and board rooms are not extravagant like people say. In fact was cramped with all board members round the table. Hopefully, I got on very well with everyone and am looking forward to the next meeting.
"Hopefully, I can get involved with sub committees inc. Welfare. I do think at this stage we need to engage the politicians to protect our loved sport. I think if we are going to move forward we need to rally everyone to get the 10k signatures to get the viewing of parliament.
"So a London office at this stage is right and important. I have been to a number of parliamentary events over the years so I’m happy to support the process. I plan to visit all tracks to meet up with as many owners as possible.
"I will then issue a statement of my priorities over the next few weeks. I have raised the issue of owners not receiving voting cards and will discuss this in detail outside the board meetings with GBGB administration staff. Overall a very positive first meeting for me."
As plenty have found, it is not an easy role but a quick update from Brealey is a great start. Confidentiality is always a stumbling block for some but it is the same in boardrooms the world over.
As owners, the general belief is that we are overlooked and under considered. The pitiful 'turnout' in voting should show the GBGB that re-engaging those owners who are still within the sport is crucial. Hopefully, Brealey is the man to oversee this and start to repair some of the damage that has been done in the past. We wish him luck and look forward to regular updates in the future.
