The story of the night followed with the Mark Wallis-trained multiple Category One winner Proper Heiress qualifying for the final following the disqualification of Oreo Ollie. It was further good news for the MWD Partnership owned runner, with the September 2022 son of Droopys Sydney getting T1 in the final.
The second semi-final of the BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby went to Glengar Silent from T5 in 29.26. The Pat Buckley-trained runner turned handy and hit the front at the third bend and powered clear. Droopys Deploy took second with race leader Magical Mag finishing third.

Elsewhere, on the card, two semi-finals of the Michael Fortune Memorial Derby Plate also took place with Carrick Scholsey taking the first in 29.45 from T5 at 4/7. Grouchoes Hoffa took second with Boylesports Blue in third. The second semi-final didn’t go to plan for favourite backers, with Magical Major finishing third at 4/6. Sunshine Sioux took the race at 10/3 with Harlequin Gee Up in second at 25s.
