Racecard for Saturday's BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Deby semis
We have been given early access to the Shelbourne racecard ahead of the semi-finals of the BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby on Saturday evening.

BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby semis
The BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby is down to the final 12 runners with the pair of semis tomorrow night at Shelbourne. On a packed card, there are also the semis of the Michael Fortune Memorial Derby Plate.
When it comes to the Derby, all eyes will be on the opening semi-final where Cheap Sandwiches and Proper Heiress will clash again. The latter got the better of the argument the first time that they met but he has a horrible draw in five, while his old rival has the striped jacket on his back. For the good of the final next week, the pair both qualifying would make for the perfect scenario.
Magical Mag has been one of the stories of the competition and her early gears can see her lead up the second semi-final. Glengar Silent has done the best of his work late on so far as he has progressed to this stage. Having Mag in front of his as a second hare could be perfect for him as well.
25% of the runners to make the semi-final stage are still pups. Ballymac Stud and Singalong Curly take one another on in the opening semi, while Glengar Silent lines up in the second.
There was an excellent discussion on the merits of the second semi-final on a recent episode of Barking Mad Betting with Ryan Conneely and Ian Fortune coming down on differing sides in the battle.
In the opening semi of the Derby Plate, it is Carrick Scholsey who heads the market. Grouchos Hoffa should lead up the outside and with four railers inside of Carrick Scholsey, he should get plenty of racing room in the middle to lay down a challenge late on to the runner in stripes.
The other semi contains the two runners who are unbeaten to this point in the competition in Magical Major and Sunshine Sioux. There are plenty of early paced types in here which could play into the paws of the wide-running Ballymac Axel. The JR Racing-owned runner would look to have a great opportunity to make the decider.
