Ability continues to shine at Swindon

Romeo Ability maintained his perfect record in the BGBF 79th 2 Year Old Produce Stakes with another impressive victory from the front.

The Patrick Janssens-trained 10/11 favourite needed all of his early pace to get across from trap four but did so as he led into the first bend and kicked clear of his rivals.

Eagles Respect stayed on strongly to lay down a bold late challenge, but the bird had flown and Romeo Ability scored by a length in 28.01.

Berties Decision (2/1) reversed the form with Malcolm Bosh when landing the first semi-final.

Rachel Hill’s railer showed his customary early speed to lead up and slipped the field down the far side, with Malcolm Bosh left with plenty to do back in third.

Angie Kibble’s dog did make up a lot of ground from the third bend but could only get within a length and a quarter of Berties Decision, who made all in 28.27.

Kibble had better luck when her Newinn Bliss (4/7fav) was an easy trap-to-line winner in 28.38 in one of the supporting opens, while the John Campbell-trained Swallowglen Hope (15/8) made all in the other open as he stopped the clock at 28.29.
