Saturday night opens saw a treble and seven doubles on the board
It was a relatively quiet Saturday for open racing around the country with just Central Park, Doncaster and Monmore having action.

Three for Heilbron at Doncaster
It was an excellent night for Tom Heilbron at Doncaster, taking a big raiding party and returning home with three winners. Toddys Vision kicked things off, getting out and away off the front end early which saw him avoiding all of the trouble which allowed him to come home more than nine lengths to the good.
Toddys Texas was next up and she took the same blueprint from the white jacket as her kennelmate had, out quickly, she had full control of proceedings from an early stage. She led home a kennelmate who the market had preferred but there was no way back for that one after a slow exit.
A sprint contest brought up the treble with Little Pretender producing a smart winning time. Once more, the Heilbron-trained runner was the first to show from the lids and it was more than enough to get another win on the board to follow up a decent success at Newcastle just over a week ago.
There were two trainers who picked up a double on the night, David Fradgley being one of them with his Look Smart coming from further back than any of Heilbron's winners had to take a 450m contest. It was a race that changed complexion plenty from the second bend with the pair who were in the last two spots early coming through to land first and second.
The first race on the night had gone to Fradgley with Bouncing Bullet. It was just start number two for the March 25 son of Jacob Tashadelek, going into plenty of notebooks in the first of those. He fully justified his position as market leader on the night to get off the mark and looks the type to do better in time.
Sally Clark was the other trainer to pick up a pair of winners on the card. Salems Amaretto took the closing contest, another to get out in front and make all of the running. She was in need of the line coming when it did as she was being chased home by Radical Poet who missed out on giving Fradgley a treble by a neck.
Clark's other winner also sported the striped jacket, though Salems Brianna took a little bit longer to get on top than her kennelmate had. Once she did get herself to the front, she pulled clear in a quick time to run out a comfortable winner, another March 25 scorer on the card.
The surprise on the night came from the 16/1 victory of Grouchos Champ for Rose Draper. It was the first time that he had got his head in front since May, another win over this 483m distance on that occasion. It was good to see Soapy Suds back in action for the first time since the second round of the Derby, finishing third here.
Paul Rea took the other open on the card with Canya Tick. It was a carnage filled opening bend which the winner managed to avoid to add to a string of recent D4 wins at her home track of Harlow.
Central Park doubles for Lewis, Mullins, Young and Carter
Four trainers picked up a double in the opens at Central Park, with Alright Tallent leading the way on the 491m times for David Lewis. She is a very smart bitch who was unfortunate to miss her intended engagement in the Premier Greyhound Racing Oaks semis last month. She is capable of making up for that somewhere down the line in a Cat One.
There was a winning debut for Lewis from Alright Cooper who had shown plenty of speed when trained in Ireland. He was looking for the line a little bit late on having shown some decent tenacity to get to the front after some early trouble. There is better to come from him now that he has blown the cobwebs away.
David Mullins picked up a brace with his Returning Storm producing another smart sprint win here. He was one of three to be in front at some point of the two-bend contest and importantly for his connections, the one who was in front at the right time. He now has five wins through his first 10 starts, very much looking a sprinter on the up.
The other Mullins winner came courtesy of Zenith Impact who had taken advantage of the red-hot favourite Ballymac Stud missing the break to get out and on the bunny herself. This track has been a happy hunting ground for her, winning for the fourth time in eight visits.
The Paul Young kennel are pouring in the winners at present and they grabbed a double on the night. Underground Arlo produced a very smart effort from the front, stopping the clock in 28.87 to take the second fastest 491m time of the day. It was a third straight success over track and trip for him, taking some solid scalps in the process.
Sperrin Mist stepped up to six bends for the first time to notch up Young's other victory. She had looked one to follow in her two early wins at Hove but had found things a little tougher in three subsequent starts. Away and gone was the order of the day here, bolting up by almost 10 lengths. She is only just out of puppy status and a 39.90 is a spectacular opening gambit as a stayer.
The fourth trainer to notch a pair of winners was Nick Carter. Both of his winners came in sprint contests with Barnfield Story the slicker of the pair. She is better known as a 491m dog around here but has been sprinting after being off for a couple of months.
Winner number two for Carter came from Angels Goold. She was away better than her rivals to take control of things from an early stage, her wide draw helping her as she avoided the trouble that befell the inside runners while she escaped.
Patrick Janssens put a winner on the board with Romeo Empire. His time was three spots slower than Sperrin Mist which adds some context to how smart a staying debut she put up. The multiple Cat One finalist didn't get to the front as early as she had, but he picked up the running heading away from the stands to produce another excellent run at this venue.
The final race on the night saw a win for Maxine Locke and Out The Blue to level the 2026 score with Young at 210 apiece. She had led very briefly from the traps before Ballydoyle Megan took over at the head of affairs, keeping that rival in her sights until she ran her back down on the run-in.
A first try on a galloping track looked a big help to Jaykay Blaze having been turned over in a pair of Romford A5's. Debbie Hurlock's charge sported the red jacket for the first time and he was away and gone from his rivals. Just an April 25 whelp, he has plenty more in the tank for the future.
There was another sprint on the night which went the way of Carl Gardiner's Burrow Lightyear. The majority of her wins have come in D3 company at her home track of Hove but she came away better than she had done on her first look here a fortnight back which made all the difference.
Milner takes two at Monmore
There were five opens on the card at Monmore with Phil Milner taking a pair of them. Keefill Teak was the first of them, getting up late on to grab the BetGoodwin Steel City Cup runner-up Moanteen Hatton in the last few strides. Richie Taberner's runner had set his stall out early but was never able to sneak far enough clear.
A six-bend contest saw a one-two for Milner as The Other Winx led home Stewards Cup finalist The Other Chief. The winner had shown some smart form at this track previously over the longer six-bend trip as she made her way to the final of the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket. This win was a decent one on the clock, getting herself to the front heading away from the stands.
Nathan Hunt picked up a winner with Anglesey Milo who had put plenty in to chase down Darcys Duke who had led the way to the fourth bend, with Hunt's charge having to dig in deep to hold that rival off near the line as he challenged once more. The winner has been mixing it with good dogs this year and has been in decent winning form of late.
Another who has been racking up the wins is Sawpit Signature, scoring for the sixth time from his last 11 starts. Those wins have come at three different tracks, making his way to the final of the Welsh Derby as part of those recent outings. He rode a couple of early bumps to get himself around in front to score.
There was a second staying contest on the card which went the way of Mike Burton's Magical Hawk. He had made the semi-final stage of the Coral Champion Stakes at Romford when trying six bends for the first time with this as far as he has gone so far in his career. It looks like the limit of his stamina for now, holding on by a short head from Zenith Jet who was trying six bends himself for the first time on his English debut.
