It is semi-final day for the Arena Racing Company Cesarewitch at Central Park, although the two both have favourites that are a little too short to tip up in Mongys Wild and Romeo Empire.
Saturday's Tips
*** Pro Parker - 6.50 Central Park
** Ballymac Axel - 6.10 Central Park
* Snowdon Mel - 9.10 Central Park
There was a very smart performance from Pro Parker over track and trip last week, stopping the clock in 16.12. He has a decent local grader directly on his left in Fastlane Hoffa who is more than capable of going to the bend quickly but the selection has form against stronger dogs than these through his open race campaign and should prove too strong.
Although Ballymac Axel didn't beat a rival on his return to action from a couple of months off, that was a heat of the Essex Vase, back down into much easier company this evening. A big, galloping four bends suits him much better than a tight six in any case and the pick of his form from last year would have him a long way clear of these rivals.
There is a maiden contest at 9.10 where Snowdon Mel should take all the beating. She has been in decent heart of late, winning an A1 on her most recent start having been taking on some of the best at the track prior to that. Her early pace should put her clear of these at the opening bend and that should be enough to see her home in front.
