It was another spectacular run from Tiffield Tarquín in the heats of the Coral Sussex Cup last Saturday night, comfortably the quickest of the qualifiers for the semi-finals. He has become a stunningly consistent performer this year, already making a pair of Category One finals. He can add a third to that this evening.
Heading to the first round of the Coral Regency without a prior look at Hove perhaps stopped Lennies Desire from showing the very best of his form in the heats. With a look now under his belt, it is wise to expect an improvement on the time that he clocked in the heats to grab his place in another major final.
Croydon Rory probably didn’t quite get home last week on his first try over six bends, but he did himself no favours by walking out the traps and turning last. He did a huge amount of running to get himself competitive and that will not have helped him as the petrol gauge started to show empty. He has five railers inside of him this evening so a slicker exit can see him avoid any potential crowding to get on the bunny.
