There is plenty of open race action around the country on Saturday night where we have three selections for the racing on offer from three different tracks.
Saturday's Tips
*** Headford Dane - 7.38 Dunstall Park
** Highview Lexi - 8.10 Central Park
* Bogger Cash - 7.14 Monmore
Although Headford Dane was beaten in the final of the Ladbrokes Gold Cup, the defending champion went out on his shield having been a hugely impressive winner of his semi-final. He didn't have things fall the right way for him on his only other prior start at this venue but he can make up for that with a win at the second time of asking, proving too strong for them late on.
There was plenty to like about the way that Highview Lexi went about her business when going unbeaten through a Shelbourne newcomers competitions to kick off her career. She won the final of that from the red jacket that she sports here, a big difference from the five that she wore on her debut for Maxine Locke at Monmore last weekend. This draw can suit better.
Monmore tonight hosts heats of a dual distance competition but this one sees the opening round over six bends before dropping back to four for the final. It's a nice change from stepping up in trip, so good on Monmore for something different. Bogger Cash is closing in on veteran status but ran a monster of a race on his return from four months off and may just be in a good spot to control the inside and prove too strong.
