It's the opening round of the Arena Racing Company Cesarewitch at Central Park on Saturday night and it's the Kent track where we look for our three selections.
Saturday's Tips
*** Two Spot - 7.25 Central Park
** Rackethall Brute - 9.25 Central Park
* Droopys Samara - 8.25 Central Park
There are three odds-on favourites in the heats of the Cesarewitch this evening. The one heat that has an odds against favourite at time of writing is the 7.25 where Two Spot looks to cash in for Maxine Locke. She has been a revelation stepped up to a stiff six bends and shapes as if this longer trip still is going to suit her well. She beat a couple of these over 664m here last time out, including the second favourite, and should be able to confirm that form.
Those who stay around until the final race this evening at Central Park will be treated to a superb clash between Rackethall Brute and Ballymac Axel. Preference is for the former on the draw, especially given his beating of New Destiny in a recent trial here where he clocked a superb 28.70 calculated. The selection arguably doesn't win often enough for his level of ability but this looks a suitable opening.
The draw in the blue jacket last week cost Droopys Samara any chance of winning, checking out of things at the first bend and then not really finding her stride until off the fourth. She came home well when she was in the clear and from this wider starting position, she can reverse that form with Bruce The Boss. Good Rainbow will lead these up around the outside but her stamina is unproven and she might be vulnerable to such a strong runner like the selection.
