It's the semis of the Star Sports & Orchestrate Ltd English Greyhound Derby this evening but the pair of them both look very tough to unpick. Epic Ace and Ballymac Ralf would be tentative selections but we are leaving them alone in favour of three bets on the undercard. 

Room may be at a premium in the 6.58 with the inside pair moving right and both four and five coming left. This Approach is that five dog but he has overcome wider than ideal draws here already and arguably has the best gears in this contest to the opening bend. He can turn in front and maintain the gallop.

There should be a nice line to the opening turn in the closing contest of the night for Droopys Trade. He was a very slick winner in the opening round of this competition in 28.69. An Arena Racing Company Laurels finalist at Dunstall Park back in April, he is a classy type and can benefit from the three and four moving left to squeeze up the inside runners early on.

Toddys Wolf was behind the re-opposing Lesleys Buddy in the heats of the Time Greyhound Nutrition Sprint but he was very unlucky, showing the best pace to the bend before being trodden on. That was his first ever look at Towcester, so he is entitled to come on for the experience. He has very similar times to the odds-on favourite Bockos Buster over two bends at Nottingham, and this dual Cat One finalist over four bends may find enough improvement to surprise at a price.
