We head to Dunstall Park tonight to celebrate the first dual meeting in England and there has not been a more consistent runner at the track since it opened than Butlers Lane. The Oaks heroine has only tasted defeat once in 12 starts here and it is easy to see her early pace winning the day again to add to that exceptional record.
The first heat of a stayers trophy can see Droopys Flotilla come out too strong for her rivals. She found all sorts of trouble on her only prior run over this track and trip but her natural ability got her up in time to grab a decent yardstick in Droopys Extragud. In a four runner field she should be able to find a clearer run around and can improve plenty on the bare time that she produced.
On paper, the orange jacket could be a horrible draw for Bang On Edith, but her early pace can see her overcome a wider than ideal starting position. She wore this jacket in a sprint here in the past and just failed to clear the field, and with less sprinter type early and there is less brute pace inside her now. A repeat of the 3.93 split she produced when taking the scalp of Butlers Lane would be more than enough.
