Seal "Pleased with how things went" as Dunstall Park commence trials for the first time
Greyhound Racing's newest venue, Dunstall Park, hosted it's first trial session this morning, and new Racing Manager Martin Seal was "Pleased with how things went"
Seal said "Kennelling went well, with no hold ups. A good initial trial session. Running surface safe and uniform. Heavy shower around trial 15, but bright and breezy otherwise. Most of the greyhounds handled the track well, and there was minimal trouble"
"The sand will find its level over the first couple of months, but overall, I'm very pleased with how things went, due reward for all the hard work everyone has put in"
Results from the trial session can be found below
Fastest greyhound of the day over the 480m trip was Drumdoit Finn, who recorded 28.34 on going given as -20. He was last seen in an A6 contest at Monmore on Saturday for trainer Ellie Field, while over the 270m sprint distance, Randy Foley, who was last seen in a sprint open race at Perry Barr for trainer Kate Harrison, recorded the fastest two bend time of 16.14 (-10)
The state of the art venue which has been built at Wolverhampton Racecourse will stage four greyhound meeting's a week once the required number of greyhounds are qualified to race.
Greyhounds who raced primarily at Perry Barr, which held it's last meeting on Saturday, will be trialling at the track over the next few weeks in order to be able to race and there of course will be new greyhounds due to trial on.
Meetings will be held on Monday morning, Wednesday evening, Thursday afternoon and Friday evenings, with the first meeting being open to the public on Friday September 19
