Seven of the best for Mark Wallis in the Star Sports Greyhound Derby

69 entries includes the Mark Wallis team

The entries are starting to flow thick and fast now into the 2025 Star Sports English Greyhound Derby.

The Mark Wallis team will be headed by recent Time Juvenile scorer Proper Heiress. He is a top priced 9/1 for outright glory with the sponsors Star Sports at present after adding that recent one-off to his Winter Derby and Kent Plate successes.

Table Toppers has looked a Towcester specialist to this point. The level of form that he has shown at the Northamptonshire venue is a fair bit better than he has shown when running anywhere else so far in his career.

Third on the Wallis list is Kilmore Dancer who has had some adventures in 2025. He is another who has saved his very best for Towcester so far in his career. Rackethall Brute was a trial stake winner each of the last two weekends. A powerful runner at the end of the 500m, he could be just the type to do enough to keep progressing.

Extra stamina will be found in the likes of Fabulous Sonique and Vhagar. The former recently dipped under 29 seconds in a Ladies contest and was an Empress Stakes finalist over this track and distance in 2023. The latter missed a date in the semis of the bet365 Hunt Cup but is ready for a tilt at this competition. Newinn Deejay is the seventh on the list. A strong runner over this trip but his slow starts need to be improved upon.

Further strong Irish entries

Entries from David Byrne and Peter Cronin have now been made. Byrne's pair are Untold Dollar and Untold Rufiyaa while Cronin has Sole Mio and Randolph Scotts.

Untold Dollar won the PGR Puppy Derby at Monmore in 2024 while Untold Rufiyaa was runner-up in the Romford Puppy Cup before landing the National Puppy Stake at Shelbourne in December.

Of the Cronin pair, Sole Mio was runner-up in the recent Con & Annie Kirby Memorial while Randolph Scotts filled the same position in the final of the BresBet Easter Cup.
