Six bends has been the making of Mossrich Sally
Monday saw open race action from Nottingham where Mossrich Sally was the star once more over six bends, winning for the third time in four starts over a trip.
Six bends the driver of success for Mossrich Sally
Mossrich Sally was a fair enough sort over four bends but the step up in trip has been the making of her, winning for the third time in four starts last night. It was a clear career-best from her, having to work to clear Mallogs Freddie by the fourth bend which could have easily softened her up for the challenge from Cruiser Finn who loomed up down the back but could never get past.
There was a smart sprint win from Phil Milner's First Addition, following on from a win at this track last week. He has scored in four of his five career starts now, looking another nice recruit for the kennel. He is from the first litter of Keefill Peppa who was a solid performer, making a pair of Cat One semi-finals.
480m was the distance of the other three races on the card, the quickest of which was won by Terry Munslow's Swift Kipper. She was quickly in control of her field off a sharp 3.80 split to grab a sixth win from her last nine starts.
Roșie Jackal almost made it a quick Munslow double but she was run down in the closing strides by Carol Weatherall's Tre Cool. He was a semi-finalist in the BGBF British Breeders Stakes on his last visit to the track, running in a trio of Derby trial stakes in the interim.
The other winner on the card was Droopys Melon for Mark Russell. She is a proper wide runner and required most of the 480m to get herself to the front but she produced a powerful run to grab the win on the run-in and confirm the promise of her debut run at the track which came over the 305m distance.
