Dunstall gala races close tomorrow

Dunstall Park racing manager Martin Seal reminds trainers that entries for Friday's gala 100 Years on Track meeting close at 11am on Monday.

The Wolverhampton venue is expecting a late rush of entries and, given the interest and quality, oversubscribed races will be looked over before a final card is decided.

"Closing the races a day earlier than usual just helps us," said Seal.

"Depending on the entries we will look to release the card late on Monday but in all likelihood Tuesday should there be a deluge. Equally if we found ourselves short in one of the races we've got time to address, but I don't see that being the case."

Six races feature on the special centenary card, each worth £1,926 to the winner, with 'others' receiving £192.60. The amounts pay homage to the first ever greyhound meeting at Belle Vue in 1926.

Winning connections will also receive a commemorative trophy and racing jacket.

The six-race card comprises: 480m Puppy (sponsored by Arc), 660m (Entain), 270m (Racecourse Promoters Association), 480m British Bred (SIS), 925m (JenningsBet) and 480m (Premier Greyhound Racing).
