2024 Produce Stakes winner continues her Swindon love affair

Southfield Poppy returned to Swindon last week with a winning run and doubled up last night for Kevin Hutton. She has hit form again with a vengeance in recent weeks with a pair of wins at Perry Barr ahead of these Swindon victories. It is now five wins in a row at the Abbey Stadium and six for seven overall at the track. Her litter sister Coppice Ella is the only one to have got the better of her at Blunsden.

Danish Ruby has won three of her five starts since arriving at Robert Hall's range from Ireland. She was only 10 spots slower than Southfield Poppy on the clock and had run Bombay Pat to a short head in an A3 stake at Cork last summer so she is clearly a bitch with a huge deal of talent.

A third four-bend race on the night went to Chris Hamblin's Stopthecarnival. He has moved around a few times in his career so far but this should open up a few more doors for him. His previous open wins came over 260m at Sheffield and 450m at Oxford.

There was a sprint on the card was won by Southfield Queen for Paul Foster. She has won three times in her last four starts so is clearly in a smart vein of form at present with a win over four bends as well as this sprint success.

682m races have been competitive at the track so far this year with Baggios Dilemma gaining the win after taking an early lead for Frank Bryce. She is another who has been in winning form in open races of late.
