Star Pelaw to stage the Alan Dobbin Derby
The Alan Dobbin Derby will be run at Star Pelaw in June.
New competition for Star Pelaw
Star Pelaw have announced a new Category Three competition for next month.
Following the success of the Star Sports On-Course Vase in March, which was won by Hillside Lily, the Chester-le-Street track will stage the Alan Dobbin Derby in June.
Sponsored by the venue’s resident booker, the 435m competition is for 18 dogs and will kick off three heats on Sunday 15th June.
With two qualifying from each heat, the final will take place on Saturday 21st June for a first prize of £1,000, and £300 for the runner-up.

The track is also advertising a three-course menu for diners on the final night, priced at £25 per person, and enquires can be made via [email protected].
