*** Candolim Typhoon - 3.57 Hove

** Woltemade - 4.59 Sheffield

* Jazzy Velvet - 3.13 Towcester

There has been serious progression from Candolim Typhoon since being sent over staying trips, a winner from boxes three, four and five already over the 695m distance at Hove. The step up to 740m might just be a help to him with a longer run to the opening bend, and although he has the stripes on his back, the draw shouldn't be enough to stop him adding another success to his tally. 

Sheffield host the feature race of the afternoon with the final of the BetGoodwin Steel City Cup. Woltemade has enjoyed an incredible 2026 for trainer Jimmy Fenwick and another Category One title is here for the taking if he comes away as well as he did in the semi-final last week. A true class act, he is one of the top four-bend performers in the country at present.

There is also action at Towcester where Jazzy Velvet looks the pick of the card. He has only made six starts but his two wins on the slate have both been hugely impressive in smart times. He should be able to lead up the sole runner that is inside him easily enough to take early control on the rails, and with so few miles on the clock, he should still have better to come.
