There is Category One action at both Towcester and Oxford this afternoon with the final of the BGBF British Bred Derby at the former and. the bet365 Puppy Oaks semis at the latter.

*** Bombay Nuty - 3.51 Towcester
** Aero Pumpkin - 3.11 Oxford
* Romeo Ability - 4.47 Towcester
It's been a while since Bombay Nutty got his head in front but the return to this more galloping track is going to see him in a much better light after running at Oxford for the last while. He has dipped into the 42.50's here on more than one occasion but he is not likely to need to go anything like that fast to see off these rivals with Lamorna Lexie and Alright Irene giving him a perfect tow into the race.
Aero Pumpkin made a very impressive first UK start at Towcester last week after showing up well in a couple of trials here. Back in trip is not going to be an issue for him as he has plenty of all-around pace. He looks a nice recruit for the Richie Taberner kennel and can make it 2/2 since he arrived on these shores.
The BGBF British Bred Derby is an interesting contest with King Memphis the hot favourite. He got the better of Romeo Ability in the semis with neither of them getting a completely clean run but with Kevin Hutton's dog now on the inside rather than outside, he might just have enough early on to hold his main rival wide and that could see him land the money.
