Hove this afternoon will see the heats of the first round of the Coral Gold Collar as well as the semis of the KAB Puppy Trophy at Oxford.

The quality of the action in the Gold Collar is going to be high but with so many smart types on show, it does make for some short prices as well as some very tricky races to solve. That leaves us with just a single selection in heat five where Texas Jack can bring his excellent recent form in the Premier Greyhound Racing Kent Derby back to his home track. He showed some decent form at Hove back in May and June and looks capable of improving on those performances now.
It was an impressive debut win last week from Richard Rees's Scooby The Lady. She is working her way out of season still so should be getting better with each start form that side of things as well as the natural improvement that is going to come as she learns her trade. There is clearly a smart engine under the bonnet and a repeat of last week should see her make it 2/2 in her career.
Yahoo Maizy was the English Puppy Oaks winner from 2024 but has not hit her form yet since coming back from time off. She made the final of the ARC Northern Puppy Derby back in February, her most recent win coming in the semis of that event. Three runs in October have all come in better company than this and as she works her way back to full fitness, she is going to pick up a win sooner rather than later.
