There is Category One action at Oxford and Towcester today with the semis of the bet365 Challenge Cup at the former and the opening round of the BGBF British Bred Derby at the latter.

* Berties Decision - 4.47 Towcester
It is semi-final day in the bet365 Challenge Cup at Oxford. Vhagar should win the opening semi and the second can go to Angie Kibble's Eagles Respect. The Produce Stakes winner was always going to be a force to be reckoned with stepped up in trip and drawn between a pair of moderate starters, he really ought to lead up the inside and that should be more than enough to see him book his spot in the final in style.
The final heat of the BGBF British Bred Derby is at 5.43 where Keefill Rocky looks nicely berthed, inside of his two main dangers. He shaped well in a recent spin around to remind him of what Towcester looks like and the defending champion can get his defence off to the perfect start to close out the opening round.
The 4.47 looks the most open of the heats, and it could have a minor surprise in the form of Berties Decision. He has not quite been at his best at his home track of Oxford of late but he has at least had a look here which the pair ahead of him in the betting have not done. He was a Produce Stakes finalist back in September, so is more than capable of holding his own at this level.
