Sunday tips

***Romeo Steel (T5, T1, 3.27 Sheffield)

 **Romeo Ability (T1, 3.47 Sheffield)

 *Untold Euro (T2, 3.09 Sheffield)

There is more Category One action to enjoy this afternoon as the Bresbest Steel City Cup semi-finals take place at Sheffield.

Romeo Steel (T5) looks the banker of the afternoon as he bids to follow up his impressive victory in the heats last Sunday. Fresh from his East Anglian Derby success, the Patrick Janssens-trained dog showed his customary early speed to get first run and saw the 500m well to score in 28.73. He should have too much early dash for his rivals at 3.27 and he will be tough to reel in if getting on the bunny again.

Another fancied to steal a march in the red jacket is his kennelmate Romeo Ability (T1), who gets the nod in the third semi-final (3.47). The Produce Stakes runner-up made the Gymcrack final here earlier in the year and can book his place in another decider with a victory. He went left from trap four when winning well a week ago, so should be happier on the rails today and the inside line can help him hold talented kennelmate Droopys Trade to the corner.

The weakest semi appears to be the first instalment at 3.09 and it could be a good opportunity for Untold Euro (T2) to strike. Dean Blackbird’s charge was no match for the impressive Chelms Bear last week but ran well for a long way when second that day and he can improve for that course refresher. There isn’t much early pace in this contest and he looks the most likely leader early doors.
