The MWD Partnership win owner of the year for 2025
For the second year in a row the Owner of the Year prize at the GBGB awards will go to the MWD Partnership who enjoyed an exceptional 2025 with their superb team.

For the second year in a row, the MWD Partnership have been named Owner of the Year. The trophy will be presented at the GBGB Awards ceremony at Easthampstead Park, Wokingham on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
It was a year that saw the Mark Wallis-trained team pick up 16 winners in Category One finals which started with Garfiney Blaze in the Arena Racing Company Cesarewitch in January and concluded with Vhagar coming out on top in the bet365 Challenge Cup at Oxford in December.
Proper Heiress was the main star for the team, winning a remarkable six Category One finals as well as reaching the decider of the Boylesports Irish Derby at Shelbourne.
He got his winning underway in the Ladbrokes Winter Derby at Monmore in February before taking the Arena Racing Company Kent Plate, the Time Juvenile, the Coral Sussex Cup, the Premier Greyhound Racing Eclipse and the Coral Olympic.
Mongys Wild added three to the haul as he dominated the staying scene when stamina was at a premium. He landed the TV Trophy over eight bends to kick off his Category One wins before landing the Premier Greyhound sponsored Regency and St Leger.
There were two each from New Destiny and Vhagar, the two staying bitches able to add some volume to the haul. The former won the Arena Racing Company Grand Prix and the Premier Greyhound Racing Champion Stakes while the latter picked up the Ladbrokes Summer Stayers before her Oxford success.
Those on one each were the aforementioned Garfiney Blaze, Fabulous Sonique in the Coral Coronation Cup and Table Toppers who took the Greyhound Racing UK Blue Riband last January.
