GBGB Award nominations discussed earlier this week

The countdown to the GBGB Awards is on after a panel met on Monday to discuss nominations for the various categories.

Chaired by Mark Moisley, the Board’s commercial director, the relative merits of the sport’s leading trackers were discussed and nominations decided upon.

Voting on the winners of each category and the ultimate accolade of Greyhound of the Year will follow ahead of the GBGB Awards in Surrey on Thursday, March 5.

Moisley said: “We will be releasing the list of nominations shortly.

"Disappointingly, we are one category short in 2025 with a lack of hurdles racing but hopefully that changes in 2026, but you couldn’t help be impressed by the overall quality across the board.

“As ever there were passionate views from the panel for certain runners but no massive disagreements I’m delighted to reveal - and I’m grateful to all those who took part.”

Tickets for the sport’s biggest night of the year are now on sale.
