Thursday greyhound racing tips - October 9
Chris Oliver takes a look at the open racing on Thursday evening and picks out his three best bets of the day.

Thursday tips
***Kick On Archie (T2, 8.07 Hove)
**Rogue Duo (T4, 8.24 Hove)
*Coolavanny Ken (T6, 8.19 Newcastle)
Thursday's open racing comes from Newcastle and Hove, and there a three runners who catch the eye.
Kick On Archie (T2) was an impressive winner on his debut in the heats and he looks the one to beat in the Coral 500 Maiden Trophy final (8.07) at Hove this evening. The well-bred November 2023 son of Droopys Sydney and Singalong Sally defied his inexperience to set the standard last Thursday, when popping out and showing smart all-round speed to score with ease in 29.73 (-20). Patrick Browne’s dog is expected to come on for that experience and he can steal a march on his rivals in the blue jacket again.
It could pay to side with Rogue Duo (T4) in the Coral Winner Of One 500 Trophy final at 8.24 after he went quickest by some way when winning in 29.59 (-10) a week ago. Following an eye-catching run in second after trouble the week before, Belinda Green’s charge showed a nice burst of early speed to turn in front last Thursday and he stays this trip well. With another slick exit, he can prove too strong in this decider.
At Newcastle, Coolavanny Ken (T6) makes plenty of appeal in the Arena Racing Company Winner Of One Standard final at 8.19. Angela Harrison’s dog ran out of his skin to score last Thursday as he received a hefty bump at the first turn, before flying home and getting up to score in the dying strides. He has plenty to find on the clock with fellow heat winner Howay Tonali but should get a clearer passage with a vacant trap on his inside this time and he could be hard to hold if getting round the opening bends unscathed.
