Thursday's Greyhound Racing Tips - 1 January 2026
We are heading to Star Pelaw this afternoon for three selections from the open races on their New Year's Day card.

Thursday Tips
*** Ballymac Sargie - 2.11 Star Pelaw
** Moanteen Pudding - 3.03 Star Pelaw
* Burrow Bell - 3.41 Star Pelaw
There are a few shorties on the card this afternoon and Ballymac Sargie will be one of those. The winner of the Untold Racing Stewards Cup over this track and trip in the autumn, he made the semis of the recent Premier Greyhound Racing All England Cup at Newcastle, picking up a supporting race on finals night. Back here will be absolutely fine for him.
Monateen Pudding is an interesting one stepping up to six bends for the first time. Chances are that she will not have to stay to win this given her form over 435m here should put her a fair way clear as they head into the fifth bend. She is a classy performer and can make an easy transition to the longer trip.
There is going to be an interesting clash between a pair of Glenn Foot's runners in the 3.41, so a market check to see how the pair move is going to be crucial here. Burrow Bell is going to be a very hard hound to stop if she goes around in front of her kennelmate No Breaks, who is a very strong runner over this distance but does not have the same recent times in the book.
