There is open class racing this evening at Monmore and Hove with plenty of decent types in action across those two tracks.
Thursday's Tips
*** Advantage Rule - 9.04 Monmore
** Smokestack Saxon - 7.49 Hove
* Newinn Jolly - 7.56 Monmore
Just four runners will head to the traps in the 9.04 at Monmore where Advantage Rule looks to have outstanding claims. He showed some decent form in Ireland before making just his second start in the UK in the opening round of the Derby. That was a little bit beyond him but this is going to be more to his liking and his 28.56 trial here sets the standard.
It was an impressive British debut from Smokestack Saxon last week at Hove and he can double up this evening at the same track. He is in a winners of one competition which are races that are always welcome as a building block from a maiden towards taking on proper open class dogs. He's only had three races in his life and there is a huge amount of potential for much better to come.
Newinn Jolly was the best of these in the opening round of a puppy competition and like them all in here, he has few enough miles on the clock to have much better still to come, and that opening round display was a smart one. He made the final of the Ladbrokkes Puppy Derby over this track and trip and that form sets the standard.
