There is open racing on offer this evening from Newcastle and Valley with two tips from the first of those and one from the latter.
Thursday's Tips
*** Singalong Cherry - 8.19 Newcastle
** Glengar Phantom - 7.11 Newcastle
* Early Tiger - 7.58 Valley
There should be a couple of great contests at Newcastle tonight with Singalong Cherry and Fabulous Harmony taking one another on in a bitches contest. The latter is the local specialist but the former produced some flying times in Ireland and took to this place like a duck to water in a recent trial, clocking a super smart 28.45 on her first look.
Tom Heilbron will have the pair at the head of the market for the other Invitational at Newcastle, where preference is for Glengar Phantom over Droopys Bookem. He is another who boasts a very strong Irish card, impressive from the front on his debut for the kennel last time out. Droopys Bookem is a star but the drop back to four bends after three months over further might just catch him out.
At Valley, the best bet on the card is the young pup Early Tiger making just his second race start. His first came at Monmore where he was pitched in the deep end, finishing two and a quarter lengths behind subsequent Steel City Cup finalist Adelinesfirstdog. He is improving with each viewing of this track and while he could do with some more urgency early on, he is the sole railer in here and that can see him on top on the long run to the line.
