*** Woltemade - 8.36 Newcastle

** Niosfearrnabolt - 7.11 Newcastle

* Naochra - 9.11 Newcastle

It was a hugely impressive opening round win for Woltemade last week in the Time Northern Flat and he looks to be well housed in a bid to add another success to his credit. He has four railers inside of him so is going to get plenty of room on the run to the bend. As long as he can get the drop on the six out of the boxes, he should be away and gone to book his place in the decider.

There are a couple of sprint heats on the card where Niosfearrnabolt makes the most appeal in the first of them. He has shown some smart form back from a break and despite his age, he is capable of producing some very smart runs, including at this track. He can get himself to the front on the inside at the opening bend and that should be enough to go on and score. 

Although he is a veteran, the defending Northern Flat champion Naochra is not going to go down without a fight. He has enough early to be able to hold his position into the first bend and then go off in pursuit of Bockos Buster who looks set to lead these up. That runner didn't come back to them last week in the heats as perhaps would have been expected but Naochra is a far stronger dog and will prove a far tougher challenge to hold off.
