Thursday's Tips

***Croydon Rory - 6.26 Hove

** Rebel California - 9.16 Hove

* Millhill May - 8.18 Newcastle

It is very likely that Croydon Rory will be a short price to start off the opens at Hove this evening but he kept warm company in his trials in Ireland and has already shown more than enough at this track to make him a red-hot prospect for a race of this sort. The sole wide seed with a vacant trap inside of him, he should have plenty of room to operate and make a winning start for Jamie Kingsley.

Rebel California has only been seen in race action once, back in December when she made a taking debut in an A3 contest. She suggested that day that the blue jacket was not the right one for her, reappearing with a wide seed now attached. Recent trials would put her in the mix here, and a repeat of that win might just be good enough to see her go in again.

The lack of a look at Newcastle is a slight concern for Millhill May, but she has been drawn in a very winnable trial stake for the Arc Angel of the North this evening. She has been flying around Sunderland for the last couple of months, showing plenty of boot to the bend. A similar break here should see her turn in front and from there, she should be able to learn the track on the fly from the front.
