Thursday's Tips
*** Behemoth - 7.33 Hove
** Venetian Ricky - 8.41 Hove
* Tedushi Ted - 8.07 Hove
Recent Sussex Cup finalist Behemoth is back in action over Hove's 515m trip this evening. He has his draw in stripes to work from having been beaten from the orange jacket this time last week. He clocked 30.07 when winning his semi of the Sussex Cup and anything like that sort of level again would make him very hard to beat.
There is an interesting first time starter in a maiden sprint, Venetian Ricky. He clocked a very impressive 17.46 in a sprint trial at Tralee before coming to England, that time would be good enough for 12th quickest of 2026 which is very smart for an unarmed pup. He has a 16.60 to his credit here in a trial from this same red jacket and this does not look the deepest open for his debut.
Although his kennelmate Tedushi Master was the quicker of the heat winners last week, it's Tedushi Ted that we are siding with for our final selection. He has a great 29.20 trial to his credit but has looked a work in progress with traffic around him on both race starts to this point. With four railers inside and a vacant trap outside, he should not have that issue this evening and can show what he is capable of.
