Face The Storm steps up to six bends for the first time in his career this evening and it looks destined to suit him perfectly. An open race winner over 480m here, that saw him getting up in the dying strides to claim victory, shaping in need of this longer trip. He is in the last month of his puppy status so there should still be plenty of improvement to come from him after just 11 career starts.
The return to his home track of Monmore might be the ticket to success for Newinn Jolly. We fancied him at Towcester on Sunday but he was never able to get competitive after an early bump. A Ladbrokes Puppy Derby finalist over this track and trip back in March, that level of form is well above anything that his rivals have accomplished.
Quickest of the heat winners in Hove's bitches competition was Easy Tizzy. She has been trapping consistently well for a while now and she showed off her skills in a race confined to her own sex. There is going to be an uphill struggle for all of her rivals if she comes away in the same fashion once more.
