The competition starts over the four-bend 480-metre trip this Sunday. 

Next up will be the 500-metre distance with the final taking place on Sunday 6th July over the six-bend 660-metre trip. 

Wicky Ned lines up as the Ante Post favourite at 7/2. 

Sunnyside Broxi is available at  6/1 with Kilmore Dancer at 8/1, is next in at Table Toppers 10’s. 

The 2024 GBGB Greyhound of the year, Wicky Ned comes into the competition having won the 2024 Premier Greyhound Racing All England Cup and 2024 Time Greyhound Nutrition Northern Flat at Newcastle plus the Bresbet Gymcrack and Steel City Cup at Sheffield. 

The Jimmy Fenwick-trained Newcastle raider will be looking to ping out and make all in first round heat over 480 metres and semi-finals over 500 metres. If Ned gets to the final, he’s going into the unknown, he’s never run over six-bends. 

Six heats take place on Sunday afternoon at Sheffield. Sunday lunch options are available via the Sheffield Greyhound Stadium website.
