Towcester gets set for Super Saturday - and Sunday

Huge number of entries received as trainers eye supporting competitions around the Derby

Classic sponsors have priced up third round heats


TOWCESTER was inundated with entries for its open races on Sunday as trainers prepare for the various competitions surrounding the Star Sports & Orchestrate Ltd English Greyhound Derby.


The track received 118 entries for the 72 places available on Sunday's card which will be an all-OR affair on the PGR service. A long list of reserves is also standing by.


The card includes a number of runners who exited the Derby in the early rounds and could be building up for a crack at the Derby Plate starting next week, while sprints and six-bend contests also grace the Sunday programme.


Of course, Towcester is preparing for a huge weekend with Saturday seeing the Northamptonshire venue hosting the eight third round heats of the Star Sports & Orchestrate Ltd English Greyhound Derby.


Joint-sponsors Star Sports have priced up all eight heats as below.


Heat one (6.58): 7-4 Swords Style, 2-1 Lennies Eddie, 3 Lennies Tank, 6 Getup The Boy, 10 Zenith Jimbombom.


Heat two (7.18): 5-6 Gaytime Clyde, 7-4 Goldcash Warrior, 7 Teejays Buddy, Swift Magnison, 22 Naochra, 40 Cmon The Brom.


Heat three (7.38): 4-9 Proper Heiress, 5 Lennies Dynamic, 8 Faypoint Harvey, Donishall Sam, 14 Garfiney Warrior, Priceless Romeo.


Heat four (7.58): 1-3 Ballymac Duffle, 11-2 Rebel Alaska, 7 Brunch Pal, Slick Sentinel, 25 Droopys Sort, 66 Salacres Amara.


Heat five (8.18): 6-4 Glengar Kane, 5-2 Scooby The Lady, 7-2 Underground Gold, 11-2 Glengar Silent, 7 Ballymac Iroko.


Heat six (8.38): 2-5 Epic Ace, 5 Texas Jack, 8 The Other Chief, 10 Droopys Berries, Bubbly Hogan, 20 Dereks Legend.


Heat seven (8.58): 6-5 Hackney Corner, 7-4 Ballymac Ralf, 9-2 Droopys Graph, 11-2 Kranky Drake, 20 Sole Focus, 50 Snazzy Bolger.


Heat eight (8.58): 7-4 Ballymac Deniro, 11-4 Strike It Skye, Ballymac Stud, 5 Droopys Aladdin, 8 Salacres Lock Up, 25 Ballymac Blanco.
